Again - great piece. I share your passion for this topic but have focused more on the tree (individual) vs the forest (societal impact).
Also, I'm just finishing month 10 on my "break" to FITFO (figure it the fuck out). First 2 months were an intentional post burnout re-set where all I did was read fiction - no time to think about much else when you're taking in 40 books over 60 days.
Next 5 months became an unplanned adventure with perpetually shifting vision ending in 2 surgeries, intermixed with 3 winter virus cycles to ensure I was absolutely good for nothing (though I shamelessly binged watch Netflix, AppleTV and Peacock - reality TV is my vice)!
Past 3 months have regained my cognitive capacity found myself playing deep in the rabbit hole with AI, and I'm doing everything I can to moderate what an outsider may view as manic productivity.
And all along the path (I've recently come to understand) I've been saying how lucky I was to have not jumped into a new project right away, given I wouldn't have been able to keep it up with the unplanned hiatus from my computer screen. Secretly grateful to have a reason to delay the FITFO process until I returned to some degree of normalcy.
Other Jenn! Thank you for a thoughtful response, you're very kind and encouraging. It's so nice to not write into a void. and I'm sorry you too know a lot about forced timeouts, though, very cool to hear you were able to turn that into on-purpose FITFO time. Also super happy to hear you've recovered cognitive capacity! It can be so upsetting when that frays, especially for those of us who process in words (another reason to love AI as a cognitive aide). On that, haven't forgotten I'm meant to loop back with you about AI as assistive tech, more on that soon! Thanks again for your supportive engagement <3
Preach!
Appreciate your support so much Takim. 🫶🏼 thanks for reading!

All that to say...I FEEL you!
Ohh I love the inline edits on this— it’s a fun read.
Appreciate you reading, Elizabeth! Glad the attempts at humour and levity translate
They definitely did!
